Perfect weather for our campers

More and more of our campers feel that they belong.

(belonging + empowerment= freedom)

They are trying more things. Reluctance is giving way to enthusiasm.

It’s great watching the changes:

Our campers are bonding with the staff and with each other.

We already know of play dates being arranged.

Apprehension is giving way to involvement.

Swim

Many campers received new bands. Thanks to our life guards, Christina and Raymond, and a lot of help from our staff. Even our reluctant swimmers are starting to enjoy the pool.

Sports and movement

Jenna (sports) and Kristen (movement) are utilizing activities to develop upper body strength along with sport and movement skills.

Music

Doron, our magical ‘music man’, has all campers drumming and singing.

Drama

Blaire has all the campers stretching their imagination.

Our big guys, following the suggestions of camper Ben Kurtz, are planning the first of several ‘Give Back To Society’ events.  The have chosen the Hudson Valley Pet Food Pantry. If you would like to contribute, please send pet food and related items in with your camper by Friday, July 20.

The “Fantastic 4” presented their social skill poem on the hill. It was very enjoyable!

Our Balloon Launch was a great success, despite very high humidity that affected the ability of many balloons to lift off. We don’t think we will break any distance records this year but are looking forward to the responses. All balloons headed west/northwest towards the Hudson. Where will they land? How many cards will be returned?

We also had Balloon Shaving and a Water Balloon Toss, organized by our 'specialists' with great support from Samantha and our staff.

We always look forward to hearing from you!
